On 17th January 2018, The South West NHS Genomic Medicine Centre will be hosting an event in Exeter to discuss tissue handling for genomic medicine in the South West. Focusing on the future of fresh tissue and small tumour handling as well as the challenges that are faced.
The aim of this event is to bring the pathology community together to share best practice and hear from experts in the field to develop ways of working for the future. The event will address the challenges Pathologists face on how to best to handle tissues to enable optimal results with respect to morphology, immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology.
The event will feature presentations and talks from speakers currently leading in this field such as Prof. Louise Jones, Clinical Lead for Molecular Pathology, Genomics England and Barts Cancer Institute, London, Dr Clare Craig, Clinical Lead for Cancer Recruitment, Genomics England, Queen Mary University of London and Dr Jane Moorhead, Histopathology, Kings College Hospital and Scientific Advisor, NHS England.
